Lansdowne next, Lansdowne
Like all classic romantic couples (Romeo & Juliet, Lancelot & Guinevere, Bonnie & Clyde), we met on the Internet. For our first date (June 18, 2011), Anne took the train to meet Tad; when she misheard the train conductor say ‘Gladstone’ as ‘Lansdowne’, Anne got off the train at the wrong stop. Tad happily drove to the other station to pick her up; when he saw her beautiful smile, he knew it was the beginning of something good…
The Proposal
Exactly 11 months later, Tad surprised Anne by bringing her to Atlantic City in her home state of New Jersey, to see a magic show by Penn & Teller. After the show… well, here it is in Teller‘s words:
I have the best job in the world. Last night afte
r the show an audience member came up and surreptitiously asked me to force the Ace of Diamonds on his girlfriend. I was then to lose the card in the deck, attempt to find it, and fail. Then I was to ask her to turn around and look at her boyfriend. I did as he wished. When she turned around, the boyfriend was kneeling before her with an engagement ring. The ring had one large diamond. He asked her to marry him. She accepted.
