Ceremony
Our wedding ceremony was held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 3-4pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County.
Just like the Quaker weddings of Tad’s grandparents and great-grandparents, we had a self-uniting marriage ceremony: At the end of the ceremony, we invited guests to sign the wedding certificate to make it official.
Note that there was no air conditioning in the church.
Reception
Immediately following the ceremony, the wedding reception was held from 4-9pm at The Old Mill – the same place where Tad’s parents had their wedding reception. It began with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner, dancing, and a traditional bridal party rap battle. Food was provided in stations, to encourage mingling and to make it easier for Tad to snack on everyone’s dinner without you noticing.
Formal/Semi-formal attire was requested, except for George Edwards, who was supposed to wear a Gorilla suit.
